Today's episode is the third installment of a trilogy that focuses on our defunct rock band, The Roy Clark Method. To hear our earlier stuff, find episode 43 from December 29, 2012, and episode 44 from January 5, 2013. Here's the five second recap: Roy and Jay had a band with two of Jay's brothers in the early 2000s. We had two LPs and one EP that were self-produced. We've already listened to the first LP, Mild-Mannered Supermen, and the EP, Stop Stepping on My Head. Today we're listening to our final and self-titled LP released in 2006. A: Karma Chameleon, 1: Cybercontroller, 2: Heart of Gold, 3: Sea of Apathy, 4: Sector 2814, 5: Flatland, 6: Big Red Cheese, 7: She Hates Me, 8: Bizarro Me, 9: Song for Chuck, 10: Going.

Recorded August 11, 2013. No, you haven't missed thirteen episodes. In this installment of The Podcast Formerly Known As, join Roy (the knower of all things 80s, an unapologetic left-wing liberal, game show host, and diligent baby daddy) Cleary, Marcus (the tallest man in podcasting, the man with an IQ of 1.21 jiggawatts, the oncoming storm, the destroyer of worlds and lover of women) Cleary, and Jay (the grouch on the couch, the slouch with the pouch, everybody's best friend) Jones as they discuss the 2013 Summer movies. Also the FKAers talk about Star Trek Into Darkness (where was the darkness?), the Lost numbers, R2D2 Into Darkness, Star Wars was for kids, Top Hooker, Too Cute, why do TV networks split up their shows seasons into two parts?, Doctor Sleep is coming in September, Jay has temporarily kicked the comic book habit, Megabus, sarcasm, Roy ranks the 2013 Summer movies he's seen (with spoilers), which sets the FKAers off on several related tangents, and we talk a little bit about Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor.

#49: Out-take Extravaganza

Posted by fkapodcast on April 5, 2013 at 8:00 AM Comments comments (0)

Most of these were previously only available on the website.  We're lazy so here's a whole episode of them!

From #-0.5: Pilot (10/16/2011) - Roy and Jay are getting ready for their first trial run at podcasting. They briefly discuss their sci-fi epic "Alienthing," try to convince Vance to introduce their show, and watch a parody of AMC's The Walking Dead.

From #1: Spooktacular (10/30/2011) - Cut from our Halloween podcast due to time, Jay tries to convince Roy to give Harry Potter a chance...

From #5: Relationship Expert (2/5/2012) - These nuggest of out-takes show just what a difference a soundtrack can make.  Listen to how the sad Hulk music can change the tone of any conversation.

From #8: What Were We Thinking? (3/5/2012) - Jay and Marcus read a somewhat skewed scene from Back to the Future.  Thanks to Paul F. Tompkins and the Pod F. Tompkast for the inspiration (we flat out stole his idea).

From #9: Magical Girls (3/22/2012) - Out-takes from our interview with Tabitha Lewis, Magical Girl Expert (TM).  We talk about Degrassi Junior High, MySpace, and Lily Allen.

From #14: Reading Rainbow (4/22/2012) - The FKAers realized Marcus hadn't added any books to their list.  Jay invited Marcus to Bad Foundations Studio to remedy that.

From #17: Phoosy Limited (5/21/2012) - An out-take from our trip down Phoosy Memory Lane.  Plus Paul Vance and Abbey Sparrow throw in their two cents.  Check out our photo gallery for corresponding images.

From #36: Favorite Video Games (11/3/2012) - Some out-takes from our discussion with Michael Socarras.  Also we play a round of Formerly Feud and, as an added bonus, included in this episode is a riveting 30 seconds in which Marcus loses his cell phone!  Who run Butter Town?
